Guangzhou, 16 September — From 15 to 16 September 2026, commissioned by the World Academy of Agricultural Sciences (WAAS), a team led by Mr. Zhong Zhenfang, Chief Agronomist and Senior Engineer of Shinong Linghang Technology R&D (Beijing) Co., Ltd., conducted a special field inspection in Guangdong Province.

The inspection team focused on the cooperative organic rice planting experimental base, systematically reviewing planting standards, organic cultivation techniques, field management protocols, output quality and demonstration推广 results, and comprehensively evaluating the base's scientific research capacity, large-scale application potential and industrial cooperation value.

During the visit, the team completed an on-site survey for the WAAS East Asia Rice Superior Variety Breeding Center. Taking into account South China's climate advantages, rice industry foundation, locational conditions and scientific research development plans, the team conducted a comprehensive assessment of the site's suitability, construction feasibility and long-term operational development space, and refined the construction layout and research implementation plan.

This inspection further consolidated the foundation for establishing a WAAS-level rice research platform, providing empirical support for East Asia regional quality rice variety breeding, organic planting technology advancement, standardized demonstration system development and industry-academia-research deep cooperation, and contributing to regional food security and high-quality modern agricultural development.

The field inspection and site assessment have now been successfully completed.
