World Academy of Agricultural Sciences Congratulates Chief Economist Mr. Dino Foi on His New Appointment

Mr. Dino Foi appointed as Chairman of the Board of Mozambique's National Fund for Sustainable Development, creating new opportunities for WAAS cooperation.

Recently, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Mozambique formally appointed Mr. Dino Foi, Chief Economist of the World Academy of Agricultural Sciences, as Chairman of the Board (PCA) of the National Fund for Sustainable Development (FNDS). The World Academy of Agricultural Sciences extends its warm congratulations.

The National Fund for Sustainable Development (FNDS) is a national public development financing institution of Mozambique. It coordinates the implementation of rural sustainable development projects and manages major inclusive government investments, playing a pivotal role in advancing rural revitalization, safeguarding food security and promoting the sustainable agricultural transformation in Mozambique.

Mr. Dino Foi has long been engaged in rural development, food security and climate resilience building across Africa, boasting extensive practical governance experience. The World Academy of Agricultural Sciences states that this new appointment creates a broader platform for cooperation.

Seizing this opportunity, the Academy expects to continuously deepen pragmatic cooperation in agricultural sectors with Mozambique. Leveraging the investment and financing platform of FNDS, the Academy will participate in the development of modern agriculture and rural industrial upgrading in Mozambique, jointly advance regional food security and sustainable agricultural development, and facilitate high-quality agricultural development across Africa.
